Bredin Notches Up 50 in Glasgow

New Zealand’s Jono Bredin has reached the impressive milestone of officiating 50 test matches around the world, after umpiring the Bronze Medal match at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games between England and Jamaica on Sunday.

Bredin is no stranger to umpiring at this level, having officiated at the last Commonwealth Games four years ago in Delhi and the 2011 World Championships in Singapore. The milestone is testament to the years of hard work and preparation put in by Bredin in a career which also includes 71 ANZ Championship matches.

Umpires are not permitted to be assigned matches which include their own countries, so to be given the nod to umpire the second semi-final between Australia and Jamaica and the Bronze medal match is prestigious at such a pinnacle event.
