Last time they met: Fiji

Tonight the Silver Ferns and Fiji Pearls will continue their road to Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 when they go head-to-head in the New World Netball Series for the Taini Jamison Trophy.

It’s been six months since the teams last met at the Oceania Netball Series in Suva. This tour made history as it was the first time New Zealand had travelled to their Pacific neighbours to play a Test Series.

In Suva, the Silver Ferns won both Test Matches against Fiji; 81-28 and 76-34.

The Series, which also included Samoa, was played in hot and humid conditions; the complete opposite of the conditions the Fiji Pearls and Silver Ferns will face tonight in Porirua.

The Fiji Pearls have arrived in New Zealand full of confidence and fresh from their victory at the Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea last week.

Currently ranked seventh in the world, the Fiji Pearls are coached by New Zealander Kate Carpenter and feature two players who will be competing in their fourth Netball World Cup in Sydney in August; Mere Rabuka-Neiliko and Matila Waqanidrola.
