Dream comes true for Francois

Shannon Francois is still pinching herself after being named in the Silver Ferns team for Netball World Cup SYDNEY 2015 (NWC2015).

The 24 year old midcourter recalled the reaction of her family and partner as she prepares to face Fiji and South Africa in the New World Netball Series for the Taini Jamison trophy later this month on the road to the NWC2015.

My family were very excited and I think they were frantically trying to book tickets and flights to come over and watch,” Francois said.

“My partner too was over the moon and he’s someone who gets up and trains with me at six in the morning so I think he’s happy that all of his dedication as well as mine has paid off!”

Francois said the selection process was tough with so many quality players in contention to wear the black dress.

“It was very competitive so I feel very lucky to be in this situation. It’s obviously something that I’ve always wanted to do so it’s awesome to be a part of, this and the Commonwealth Games team have been huge highlights,” she said.
