After becoming a replacement player for the Southern Steel in 2012, it was 2015 that propelled ever-improving midcourter Gina Crampton into the spotlight.
Predominantly a wing attack but also an effective centre, Crampton showcased her skillsets through her speed, drive off the line and adept feeding ability to quickly make a Steel starting position her own while also winning the Aspiring Silver Fern award at the New Zealand Netball Awards in 2015.
There was further reward for Crampton the following year when she made the Silver Ferns squad for the first time. Her international debut took place later that year during the Constellation Cup series against Australia.
A fine athlete and still building on her all-round game, Crampton is one of a number of young players introduced to the elite level in recent times and still in the infancy of their international careers.
